  • Oriental breeds
seem to have more hyperesthesia (neurological disorder) than the general population of felines, and stress often seems to be the trigger for these kitties.Often we hear that their cat has got worse with hypersensitive response or started having seizures not long after a chemical injection or worming tablet, paste or injection of some sort. Symptoms after a vaccine can be seen as having dry, itchy skin can induce or aggravate a hyperesthesia condition. This is also more common in cats fed a dry food diet which has grain in it (Omit all grain foods).

Some kitties experience grand mal seizures during an episode of hyperesthesia or right afterward. Experts theorize the syndrome might be caused by a problem with electrical activity in areas of the brain that control grooming, emotions and predatory behavior. Also, seizure activity is known to lead to obsessive-compulsive behavior.

Twitchy cat syndrome, if you haven't already figured it out, is a condition in which cats back ripples from the shoulders all the way down to the tail. This rippling sensation causes kitties to exhibit all kinds of strange behavior including obsessively biting at the back and tail, darting from room to room maniacally, vocalizing loudly even hallucinating. The cause of feline hyperesthesia isn't well understood. It could be a type of seizure. It could also be on the obsessive-compulsive spectrum of disorders. It definitely seems to have stress as a trigger, as having a mineral deficiency presents the inability to cope with stress (be in chemicals or environment)

Things to avoid: Vaccines, worming, flea and dry food or wet food that contains grains of any sort. Use natural non-toxic products for all your cats, and omit commercial foods. (Some people have found that there cat improved 100% when switched to zero-grain food). What we are symptoms appear usually as chronic after 2 months from vaccinations. If an acute reaction to vaccines happens, we see the pain and fever and inflammation same day as vaccine given. However, many more have a reaction that shows up 2 months down the track. What we work on is to help clear what has caused many skin symptoms and behaviour. Some pets do not have an allergy reaction to drugs and vaccines, but many do.* If your cat was also having seizure like symptoms, we would suggest also using a herbal formula to repair nervous system damages.

E.g. HAMPL Feline Seizure Set (AN008) For Seizures, Hyperestheis (neurological issue) can be brought on by being mineral deficient. This can be a major "stressors" for the system. One of the major minerals needed is called "Magnesium" if severely depleted can also be the cause of seizures.

The dynamic involves several B Vitamins and minerals. Example: B6 (P5P), Vitamin C and Magnesium! ....And when these factors are in shortage due to "Stressors!" there is an impact on the GAD enzyme that is supposed to convert Glutamate > GABA. And when that doesn't happen, Glutamates build up, burn out the Magnesium, and that's the reason for the Seizures!.

It's not a medical disease... It is indeed a classic sign of metabolic dysfunction... borne of "mineral deficiencies" We recently made this formula, as a cat we rescued from the pound, (Bombay cat), in which after we got her she progressively got worse, with skin breakouts, itching, growling and hyperactivity with obsessive licking and biting of back. The Vet nurse said she was fine before they vaccinated her, but a few weeks later she was getting many symptoms of Hyperestheis. So this was our chance to treat this cat with the below homeopathic formula we mixed up. However, even though she was acting more relaxed with less skin rolling and biting of the back, lower pitch meowing and talking, she was not fully back to being a normal function cat. As we have low potencies mainly in this formula, I muscle tested and found I needed to go up to a 10M in the Calc Carb. Applied a dose on her back and within 5 minutes she was sleeping and circled up like I have never seen her do before. No more biting and obsessive licking. So here we have it, so happy to be able to make this remedy available for your cat too, relief without drugs.

FELINE DOSING SUGGESTION: Apply 3 - 4 drops on the back of shoulder blades as one dose application. Apply a dose for at least two to three repeat doses. If acute symptoms repeat a dose of 10 minutes apart each repeat. This will release acute symptoms and calm response. Repeat once a day in meals if needed, but usually, the initial dosing is all that is needed. But each cat is different.

  •  General Dosing and Instructions Guide

For all species, size, and ages.

    HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINES

    (a) “HOMEOPATHICS”are sold in either a clear liquid or tiny white pills or granules – both have no odour or taste)

Easy “application dosing” for all species:

    • Homeopathic DROPS (clear liquid) DRIP or APPLY 3 to 4 drops, pat into fur/skin with bottom of bottle. i.e. back of shoulder blades (not orally) which is regarded as one dose for all size species and ages. Note: Liquid homeopathics are more suited for feline, toy dog, fish, birds and other small species
    • Homeopathic PILLS (white pills) crush a pill (or whole) and add to gum/pouch of mouth to dissolve in saliva. Does not need to swallow it.
    • Homeopathic GRANULES (white grain) and a small light sprinkle or a pinch to meals, or stir into water trough or bowl.
Casual repeat dosing can add to water bowl or feed dish or water trough for wildlife or farm animals.

Refer to Bottle Label for suggested frequencies repeat dosing needed per day.
    NOTE:
the rule is one must “repeat a dose” more frequently with less time in between each application dose, which is more important than the amount given each time. Repeat application will provide

faster action.

    HERBAL MEDICINES

    (b) “HERBAL MEDICINES ” (brown liquid – strong odour & tasting)
”Application dosing” for all species and sizes:
Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat : add herbal drops (as recommended on bottle label) to some (unsweetened apple sauce or apple juice) for canines and oral syringe side of mouth. Can add other vitamins (crushed) Alkaline green powders etc. to mix.

Refer to Bottle Label for amount of drops per species size. e.g 60 drops = 1 teaspoon

What I do for example: If I was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)

    NUTRITION

    (c)“NUTRITIONAL Mix
Giving vitamins and supplements (tablets or powders) Note: always crush tablet before adding to food or liquid mix.
Felines or small animals: make up 1 cup of mixture, adding approx. a pinch of some type of Green powder (alkaline powder) or Chlorella powder (cleansing of toxins) or 1/4 Teaspoons of Slippery elm powder (to mask the taste) with 1 teaspoon of herbs if you are having to also give herbal medicines (i.e. brown liquid)
Med to large animals: add twice to three times the amount.

DOSING: Feline or small animal: using an oral syringe draw up 1ml and gently small sips. Or add a teaspoon to meals if they don’t mind eating it with meals (mix well into food) Do not put in Fridge. Room temp is best as too cold is dislike by felines.
DOSING: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat: try mixing well into food and hand piece before feeding main meals. Or dose same as suggested for felines, but add three times as much herbal medicines and vitamins to 1/2 cup of water or (unsweetened) apple sauce or apple juice.

What I do for example: If i was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to 1/2 cup of boiled hot water to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …. smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)

    Slippery Elm Powder
If needing to add or use Slippery Elm powder

FOR CONDITIONS like …. diarrhea, stomach ulcers, or sore inflamed mouth or mouth ulcers, constipation, or IBS (i.e. colitis), plus it can also been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids.

CONVALESCING ..can been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids or not eating very well.
~ Add a small amount of powder to the mix to enough to make a runny liquid mix, if you put too much of the powder it will become thick and gluggy, if this happens you will need to add more liquid to it. Can add crushed vitamins and herbal medicines to this as well. OPTIONS: Oral dose in syringe or add to meals three times a day or more to maintain normal health again, then can stop or reduce frequencies.
